With flange diameters exceeding standard box heights, the drums were lifted by crane and secured on reinforced timber beds, eliminating disassembly and saving 3 days of packing time. A single open-top unit accommodates two 2 300 mm drums or one 2 500 mm drum, optimizing freight cost per piece.

"Open-top shipping keeps the drum upright and avoids side pressure, so the flange stays perfectly round," said the project engineer. Each reel is wrapped in VCI film and lashed with galvanized steel straps, meeting IMO sea transport codes.
